Britney Spears Thanks Soldiers For Video Tribute

Britney Spears has reached out to a group of soldiers in Afghanistan who made a video tribute to her song Hold It Against Me, thanking them for their bravery and insisting she is delighted with their pop efforts.
A number of Marines stationed in the Middle East spent three months putting together the footage, in which soldiers are seen dancing and singing along to the pop star’s hit track.

Spears posted a link to the video on her Twitter.com page and sent the troops a message of encouragement.

She writes, “I am in love with this… I always knew our soldiers were fierce! Thanks for everything you guys do… Britney.”

Jennifer Lopez - People's Most Beautiful Woman of 2011

Jennifer Lopez has been named People's Most Beautiful Woman of 2011. While the gorgeous 41-year-old “American Idol” host spends a lot of time getting glammed up for red carpet events, Lopez tells the magazine she prefers the time she spends at home with hubby Marc Anthony and their 3-year-old twins, Max and Emme, without having a stitch of makeup on her face. “That’s when I’m happiest,” she smiles. “Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up is so much better.” As for her “diva” reputation, J.Lo admits, “I kind of like it. We’ve kind of owned it now. But I certainly don’t like and I’ve never been a person who has what they call ‘diva behavior,’ which is something they tried to pin on me for a long time."

Charlie Sheen gets cheers, not boos in second stop on tour

CHICAGO - This time, Charlie Sheen's stage show began and ended with a standing ovation.

Sheen changed up the format for his 20-city road show after bombing in Detroit, using a master of ceremonies who asked the former "Two and a Half Men" star questions during Sunday night's performance in Chicago. Sheen ditched the rapper, the long monologue and the videos that were part of the Detroit show that had people leaving in droves Saturday night.

The changes seem to have helped. Audience members said the second performance on Sheen's "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is not an Option" tour wasn't stellar, but it at least had some amusing moments. And the crowd at the 3,600-seat Chicago Theatre stayed for the entire performance and continued to cheer Sheen throughout.

Mackenzie Barth, 19, said the sold-out show was "weird," but that "at least no one was booing," referring to the reaction Sheen received in Detroit, where audience members chanted "refund" and headed for the exits even before the show abruptly ended.

Those attending the Chicago performance acknowledged they had low expectations going in after hearing the brutal reviews of the inaugural performance, which had started with thunderous applause.

A woman stand trial on charge of slicing DiCaprio

LOS ANGELES - A judge ordered a woman to stand trial on a charge of slashing Leonardo DiCaprio's face with glass during a 2005 party.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Edmund Willcox Clarke ordered Aretha Wilson to face one count of assault with a deadly weapon. The charge includes an allegation that Wilson, 40, caused great bodily injury.

The details and extent of DiCaprio's injuries were not made public, although the judge, who has reviewed photos of the injuries to the actor's ear and neck, said Thursday that "this would not be an injury that would be called trivial or moderate, in my view."

Those photos also were not made public. DiCaprio did not attend the hearing.

Wilson was returned to Los Angeles in the five-year-old case after waiving extradition from Canada. She has pleaded not guilty and remains jailed in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Wilson's attorney Freddy Sayegh said the ruling was not unexpected and that Wilson has vehemently professed her innocence. He said he expected to trial to begin within 60 days.

She is due back in court on Sept. 9.

Authorities have said Wilson attacked DiCaprio with a broken beer bottle, but a witness called Thursday said it was a wine glass. The criminal complaint identifies the object only as glass.

If convicted, Wilson faces up to seven years in state prison.

Brad Pitt's Very Bad Advice

It's a jungle out there, and this month Wired delivers the new rules for highly evolved humans, providing readers with a scientific approach to dozens of 21st century predicaments, featuring some very bad advice from Brad Pitt such as: Don't online stalk before a first date: A 2007 study by Cornell and Michigan State found that 81 percent of participants who used online dating sites provided false information about how short, old or heavy they were. Judge your dates face-to-face.

The actor approached Wired about collaborating on an upcoming project in support of his new film with Quentin Tarantino, "Inglourious Basterds." He liked the Mystery issue we had done with J.J. Abrams in May and wanted to break away from the traditional celebrity magazine story. So he called our creative director, Scott Dadich, and after talking about concept of what the package might look and feel like; they both decided to it and started shaping a shot list and cover ideas.... more here

Cameron Diaz may seem carefree in most of her movies, but the "Charlie's Angels" star gets grossed out by door handles and refuses to touch them with her bare hands. Instead, she uses her elbows to turn the knobs. While she claims she's not a germaphobe, she sounds like one to us. Cameron's in good company, however, as there are many celebrities who've confessed to strange phobias and obsessions through the years.

Whoopi Goldberg: Afraid of Flying
Whoopi Goldberg seems to have her act together. Currently the moderator on "The View," Whoopi is an Oscar, Grammy, Tony, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning actress and comedian, and she seems genuinely loved and respected by her peers. But up until recently, Whoopi had a debilitating fear of flying and would travel across country in her own bus when she needed to go coast to coast. When Goldberg's "Sister Act" became a musical and was set to debut in London's West End, it became clear that the bus was not an option. She agreed to have representatives from Virgin Atlantic's Flying Without Fear program help her address her phobia. And not only has Whoopi gone to London to support her show, she's also made surprise visits to her family and trips to Las Vegas to perform at the Encore Theater (which had been dark since the unexpected death of headliner Danny Gans)... more here

Megan Fox's Make or Break Movie

Megan Fox is known for three things: fighting killer robots along side Shia LeBeouf in two "Transformers" movies; dating Brian Austin Green; and looking really good at movie premieres. In the past month, with the release of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," the hype surrounding Fox has reached a fever pitch and clearly she's growing restless with being pigeon-holed as Tinseltown's latest action-flick hottie. Last week, she complained to EW that "working with [director] Michael Bay is not about an acting experience."

Bay promptly retorted in an interview with The Wall Street Journal (of all places), saying "[Fox] says some very ridiculous things because she's 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do."
Watch the exclusive trailer from 'Jennifer's Body' >>

Both of course are true. In spite of Bay's protestations, no one ever went to one of his flicks for the Oscar-worthy performances; they go to see stuff get blown up. And Fox is young and does have a surprisingly thin resume considering her buzz. Since Bay tapped her for the first "Transformers" movie in '07, she's only appeared in two movies and those were both just supporting roles. But that's about to change. For the first time, Megan Fox is set to open a movie -- this fall's horror comedy "Jennifer's Body" where she plays a cheerleader possessed by a boy-hating demon.... more here

Jackson Doc canceled an interview with the LAPD.

We've learned Dr. Conrad Murray canceled an interview with the LAPD.

As we have already reported, the LAPD is treating Michael Jackson's death as a homicide. Detectives have their sights set on Murray, as the person who may have administered the drug Propofol, which we're told is the primary cause of Jackson's death.

We're told the LAPD planned a third interview with Dr. Murray earlier in the week -- the doctor was interviewed the day Jackson died and again two days later.

Reps from the L.A. County Coroner's office planned to attend the third interview, but we're told Dr. Murray's lawyer called and said the doctor would not be speaking to the cops at this time.... read more

Listen Michael Jackson's Unreleased Song

The song -- "A Place with No Name" -- sounds similar to the song "A Horse with No Name" released by the group America back in 1971. We're told several years ago America's manager gave his group's permission for Jackson to record the song, "A Place with No Name" -- despite the similarity.

Sandra Bullock: 'I'm Going To Be Naked In Every Single Film'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Sandra Bullock knows why "The Proposal" was her biggest box office opening yet.

"I'm going to be naked in every single film," she joked on the UK's "GMTV" on Tuesday, referring to an awkward scene with co-star Ryan Reynolds. "Can you imagine me at 70? Zac Efron doing a big film - there I am, running naked in the background. Just back and forth until someone notices. Big box office - they're all going to want me in their film."

The romantic comedy topped the box office with $34.1 million after opening on June 20, beating Sandra's previous high water mark, 2007's "Premonition," by almost double.

And while the longtime star said she's ready to strip down again, she noted nudity works best at the box office when it's just for laughs. ... read more

Paris Hilton insists she plugged sorority movie

MIAMI - Paris Hilton repeatedly fussed with her hair and makeup in a federal courtroom Friday, sported six-inch stiletto heels and a black dress and amused the judge with a little wave on the way to the witness stand.

Once on the stand, though, Hilton was businesslike when it came to defending herself against an $8 million lawsuit's claim that she didn't do her part to promote the 2006 box-office bomb "Pledge This!" She acknowledged in court the movie didn't turn out very well but insisted she plugged it for everything she was worth.

"If I have my name attached to something, I want it to be as big as it can be," the 28-year-old heiress, model and actress testified. "It could have been a lot better if it was done more professionally. I wanted it to do as well as possible." ... read more
